Welcome to 3Keel! How have your first days been so far?
It has been great how welcoming and helpful everyone has been. I think there is a great diversity in the team, which makes it very enjoyable to collaborate.
What have you started working on?
While I spend most of my time familiarising myself with the supply chains, I have helped segregate some of soy data and had a brainstorming session on an infographic for the Sustainable Seafood Coalition.
What are you looking forward to most about working for 3Keel?
First and foremost, I am very excited to work in a diverse team which is so supportive, friendly and most importantly who really care about our planet, sustainability and social responsibility. Besides this, I am very curious to learn more about terrestrial supply chains. 3Keel seems to attract great people, which makes it a fantastic, fun and supportive place to work.
Who or what inspired you to work in sustainability?
Maybe a bit of an odd answer but a whitetip reef shark. I was lucky enough to see them in the great barrier reef, which motivated me to learn a lot about these animals. This is how I learned about shark finning and wanted to do something about it. The more I learned, the more I became interested in the bigger picture of ecology and the planetary boundaries.
When you’re not working, what do you like to do?
A lot of my free time is dedicated to my triathlon training. I have a Greyhound who I take on walks and hikes. My partner and I recently bought a house, so a lot of DIY is also on my agenda. I really enjoy boardgames with friends and if I have any time left, it is spent on my NGO – Stop Finning.
