The Carbon Removals Taskforce brings together private and public sector stakeholders with a shared goal: understanding how to measure, monitor, and scale carbon removals in food and drink supply chains. Reaching Net Zero and supporting a transition toward sustainable agriculture requires looking at the full picture; not just emissions, but removals too.
Carbon Removals Taskforce

Our aim
We support the practical implementation and scaling of carbon removals accounting across food and drink supply chains. By doing so, we help unlock recognition and reward for actions that increase carbon removals, including nature-based solutions and regenerative farming practices that also improve soil quality, boost biodiversity, reduce water pollution, and increase water retention.
What we do
We bring members together in two key ways:
Our advocacy is grounded in evidence from across our membership. Read our open letter to government and industry partners setting out the barriers to scaling carbon removals in UK agricultural supply chains; and what we’re calling on policymakers, businesses, and the research community to do about it.
Who we are
The Taskforce is a cross-sector community including grocery retailers, hospitality and food service businesses, food and drink processors and manufacturers, primary producer representatives, NGOs, policymakers, and other interested parties.
The group is supported by a secretariat (3Keel) and by an independent chair.
