The Land Sector and Removals (LSR) Guidance is a companion resource to the Land Sector and Removals Standard, designed to give practical details on how to account for and report GHG emissions and CO2 removals from agricultural land use and emerging CO2 removal technologies.

At more than 500 pages, our experts have been going through the guidance in detail, so that we can help you understand its implications. Join Catherine and Megan as they summarise the key points and highlight where the guidance gives useful clarity to implementing the LSRS. They will also dig in to where there are remaining challenges or uncertainties and zoom in on some specific case studies to illustrate use cases.

About our speakers

Catherine McCoskerHead of Agriculture and Landscapes

Catherine McCosker is the Head of Agriculture and Landscapes at 3Keel. A former farmer, she’s especially passionate about amplifying the farmer voice within supply chains. Catherine specialises in farmer engagement and support, soil health and regenerative agriculture, and nature-based solutions in an agriculture and production context including biodiversity and carbon removals. She has worked with a range of clients across the sector and supply chain including Nestlé, innocent drinks, Oatly, Asahi, John Lewis Partnership, Natural England, Defra, DESNZ, The National Trust, WWF, and WRAP.

Before joining 3Keel in 2014, Catherine spent seven years working on and managing small- and medium-scale farms in the United States including dairy, horticulture, and small livestock. While she still misses getting her boots muddy every day, she doesn’t miss the below-freezing early dawns! She then went on to complete an MSc in Evidence-Based Social Intervention at the University of Oxford and worked as a researcher as SOAS, where she co-authored a Campbell systematic review on the socio-economic effects of sustainability standards.

She maintains a small piece of her agricultural background as a trustee at the Oxford City Farm, where she gets to milk goats once a week.

Megan MacGillivraySenior Consultant

Megan is a Consultant in 3Keel’s Agriculture and Landscapes Business Unit. She has worked with a range of clients including Asahi, John Lewis Partnership, Defra, DESNZ, WWF, WRAP, and Suntory, developing guidance for clients to engage with agricultural supply chains to support a shift to sustainable land management.

Megan has a particular interest in the potential of insetting, regenerative agriculture, and nature-based solutions to create resilient food systems that balance food production with co-benefits for carbon and nature. She specialises in the development of monitoring and verification systems to assess the climate, nature, and water outcomes of regenerative agriculture and nature-based solutions, and how these impacts can feed through into corporate sustainability reporting.

Megan joined 3Keel after completing an integrated master’s degree in Biological Sciences at the University of Oxford, where she conducted her thesis on the climate change adaptation impacts of nature-based solutions. Megan has co-authored a paper exploring the biodiversity impacts of nature-based solutions and worked at the Stockholm Environment Institute supporting their climate change adaptation platform (weADAPT).
